The Soul Canoe

The Field of Wuramon

How many foul air did you breathe?
Was it between 12,000 and 80,000 quarts of air through to your lungs?

I am in the middle of the pacific ocean.

Could you feel a drop of the ocean?

I'm hanging on one of the 80.688 souls that seem to be assemble.
How many souls did you have separated in the sea?
Can you see my Wuramon?

a figure of freedom
a figure of justice
a figure of honesty
a figure of ego
a figure of independent
a figure of fragility
and also the dark figures.

Were they able to possess my body?
Does it hurt to kept it all?
I guess body with no soul is not a body at all.

..and again, i flew over the ocean.
Move to the other place..
to the new place? is it 'reborn'?
Do you believe in reincarnation phenomenon?
or you are willing to make yourself immortal.

footnote: Asmat soul canoes, known as wuramon, are symbolic carvings in the form of canoes, manned by figures of spirits. They were traditionally used in ceremonies connected with initiation and the dead in the northern Asmat area, particularly that of the Unir, Pomatsj, and Utumbuwe rivers.
